They claim that PlayStation is getting ready to announce this version of Until Dawn pretty soon, with a reveal expected to take place within the next 15 days. Traditionalism run amock.Billbil-kun has made a name for themselves over the past few years as an insider, accurately leaking titles coming to PlayStation Plus a number of times.Īccording to Billbil-kun, we won't have to wait too long to find out anyway. It is a problem that a lot of Japanese companies have, and it is also a major reason why they are becoming less relevant. This isn't even a problem peculiar to Sony. They are once again fighting to keep a dying model in place. Their not porting games over to this platform is part of this very insular very provencial mindset that has gotten them into so much trouble in recent history. Rather then one that was specialized for gaming. The Cell processor that actively hampered development for their previous console was actually a general use chip. The reason Apple is a force within music today has everything to do with the fact that Sony Music fought tooth and nail to prevent the electronics division from developing mp3 players. Underming the ability of other divisions to be competitive within their respective marketplaces. This is actually a fairly common problem within Sony to this very day, and one that is likely to do them in as a business concern eventually.ĭivisions within the same company either through guile or sheer stupidity. Were the console to fail many divisions within the company would be dealt a terminal reversal, because the console was their only viable path into the market. Sony used the console to further their disc format agenda, their processor agenda, and a slew of other product lines. The problem with the console is that it was intended from its very inception as a Trojan horse of sorts. They had far too much invested by that point. Early on they ended up losing hundreds on each console sold, and they really never had any chance of recovering those losses, but they really had no choice in the matter either. They loss lead their console to the sum of billions, and had taken out loans to finance the consoles development, and its first years on the market. Small in that instance obviously being a relative term. The system, when made, was much more expensive to make and due to demand the price was lowed so much they began losing small amounts of money on every sale until the parts became cheeper. So I do not know how well that system sold or was received critically Either via the streaming service, or Sony making moves to match Microsoft so their competitor doesn't get a free pass on a whole lot of money. Well there are at least two scenarios by which this game could come to this platform. Can Sony afford to allow Microsoft to gorge as it were uncontested. This market being worth more then all of the consoles combined. The move could either end up as a crutch for Microsoft, or it could end up being a massive club of the skull crushing variety. Especially if Microsoft takes that extra money, and uses it to fuel increased game development. This market is probably too lucrative to ignore. May well end up forcing Sony to do likewise. Now with that being said Microsoft with its lateral into this market. Then for them the obvious answer should be to have the service lag behind their console by say eighteen months to a couple years. They would be going out of business right now, and as Sony is not likely to offer up new service specific games. Were Netflix or Hulu to only offer up shows from four or five years ago. Sony as a company can be incredibly stupid and shortsighted, but I seriously doubt that they will not take note of what it is that other streaming services are doing. Let alone one worthy of paying a monthly subscription for. Not if they intend to continue to offer their streaming service as a viable option. It is just really hard to see them holding out until their next console launches to release games for their current generation console onto the service. It not being a major franchise, or a console seller as it were. As such this title would be a prime candidate. Sooner rather then later current console generation titles will have to start trickling onto the platform. They expended considerable capitol in acquiring the service, and a major part of maintaining it as an ongoing concern is updating their inventory. There is a very high likelihood that we will see this title being made available through their streaming service by around years end. While I am somewhat loathe to say such, because I am no fan of the model in question.
